AI Controls is where you set up everything Lyngo needs to know and how it behaves on calls. Open it at portal.lyngo.ai/home/ai-controls. It's organised into a menu of sections down the left.
1. Assistant Profile
Your assistant's name, opening greeting, and voice — how Lyngo introduces itself and sounds to callers.
2. Clinic Information
Your clinic's name, address, contact details, opening hours, timezone and currency — so Lyngo can answer questions and offer times correctly.
3. Appointments
The appointment types Lyngo is allowed to book, grouped into Categories you create. For each type you can:
Turn it on or off with Enabled, and set the name Lyngo uses, the duration, and the price (or add custom pricing notes, e.g. "Bulk billed, $100 first area").
Choose which Practitioners can perform it.
Add Booking conditions so Lyngo offers the right appointment for what the caller needs.
Write a short description of when the appointment type should be used.
Appointment types usually sync from your practice management system — here you control how Lyngo presents and offers them.
4. Practitioners
Tell Lyngo about your team so it can talk about them naturally and book with the right person. For each practitioner you can:
Turn them Enabled on or off and set the name Lyngo uses.
Add their profession, pronouns (so Lyngo refers to them correctly), and a short description.
For PracSuite clinics, set which calendars they work on — use "Apply to all practitioners" to set everyone at once.
5. FAQs
Teach Lyngo the questions patients ask most — "Do you have parking?", "Do you accept insurance?", "What should I bring?" — by adding simple question and answer pairs. Lyngo uses them to answer callers instantly instead of taking a message.
Keep answers short and clear: Lyngo uses them to inform its reply, not to read out word-for-word.
6. Guidelines
Give Lyngo extra instructions for how to handle specific situations — your house rules. Each guideline has a name (e.g. "After Hours Policy", "New Patient Process") and the instructions to follow. For example:
"Remind new patients to arrive 10 minutes early."
"If a caller asks about an invoice, take their email and let them know it'll be sent after the call."
"Always confirm the appointment time twice before ending the call."
Add a few focused guidelines rather than one long list — it keeps Lyngo accurate.
7. Speech Assist
Fine-tune how Lyngo sounds and listens — pronunciation of clinic, practitioner and treatment names, natural filler phrases, and subtle background or thinking sounds.
8. Escalations
Decide when Lyngo hands a call back to your team and who gets email notifications. See Let Lyngo transfer calls back to your clinic for the full guide.
9. Backup history
Each time you save, Lyngo keeps a snapshot of your settings — so if something isn't right, you can restore an earlier version.
Have more than one clinic? Use the Locations panel to choose which one you're editing — changes apply only to that clinic.
Remember to Save when you're done.
